Connie’s Testimonial

I can’t say enough good things about Beth Daugherty, Certified Precision Nutrition Coach.  In July of 2016, I set a goal determined not to gain the weight I lost through personal training at Absolute U Fitness.  (I went from 204 lbs down to 150 lbs).   Along with my training, I had followed some advice from people on what to eat, and looked into a lot of different diets; hoping I could maintain my weight. These things never stuck; I got bored, and would yoyo around with my weight. Beth approached me with an opportunity to follow a meal plan and get coached.  I couldn’t pass that up.

Beth helped me see that even though some of the foods I ate were ok;  there was a lot I needed to learn. I knew something was missing, I just didn’t know how to fix it.  Beth started by gathering information about me, what I liked to eat, dietary restrictions, and what my goal was.  After taking all the data into consideration, she prepared a meal plan that was best suited for me.  Through her coaching, I was able to look into my past track record and understand why I first gained weight, and what things or situations were triggers.  She helped me learn more about the food choices I was making, their nutritional value, and what positive choices I could make when things got tough.

When I first started following the meal plan, my first thought was “huh, I actually like all these foods”.  I have a plan that’s easy to follow, I know what I need to buy when I head out to the grocery story.

So, what did following Beth’s meal planning help me do?  Well…I can proudly say, I lost another 9 pounds and maintained that weight loss.

In November of 2016, I made a decision to compete in a NPC competition as a bikini competitor.  These competitions are not for the light at heart, and it takes a lot of dedication and hard work.  Among training hard, the biggest thing is to be on point with your Nutrition and food intake.  I discussed this with my trainer, Brian Quinlisk, and quickly informed him there was no one I trust more to put together a competition meal plan than Beth.  She knows my tolerances, knows what things I can handle, and she knows me.  Beth was more than happy to be there for me, and in December I started following a new plan that was specifically designed to help me gain muscle.  It was not easy, I’m not going to lie.  Beth, however; was there for me every step of the way, communicating, and checking in to see how I was doing.  Towards the last weeks of my competition (April 2017), my plan changed again as I needed to lean out.  At competition time, my BMI was 11.7% and my weight at 135 pounds.

I can’t thank Beth enough for what she has taught me. Her professionalism, people skills, and expertise in knowing what is best for her client is incredible.  Thank you Beth, for being there for me; teaching me; and helping make the right choices where I can live a long and healthy life.
